Requirements for Graduation

To be eligible for the award of B. Tech from any programme of the Department, a student must have:

1. passed all core (compulsory) courses as well as all University, Faculty (Faculty of Engineering and Technology) and Departmental required courses and electives recommended for specialization;
2. accumulated and passed the least number of course units recommended for the programme and obtained a CGPA of not less than 1.00; and
3. completed successfully all class work, industrial attachments, seminars and projects.

Degrees to be Awarded

The Department will be awarding Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) degrees to successful students of the Department in the three under-listed programme options:

1. Computer Engineering
2. Information and Communication Technology
3. Software Engineering

Therefore, three distinct degrees to be awardable within the Department are:

1. B. Tech Computer Engineering
2. B. Tech Information and Communication Technology
3. B. Tech Software Engineering

The class of degree shall be one of the following as may be approved by the Senate of the

University:

First Class Honours                                                              4.50 – 5.00

Second Class Honours (Upper Division)                             3.50 – 4.49

Second Class Honours (Lower Division)                            2.40 – 3.49

Third Class Honours and                                                      1.50 – 2.39

Ordinary pass                                                                        1.00 – 1.49
